Finishing School: Presenting Your Artwork in a Professional Manner

Learn how to present your artwork professionally so it gets noticed 

We will cover critiquing and editing your work, entering shows, working in a series to create a cohesive collection, and how to put the finishing touches on your completed artwork for display in exhibits and galleries...without breaking the bank! We'll cover various aspects of framing, wiring, and hanging your work. 

What To Bring:

Attendees should bring a notebook, pen, pencil, and eraser.  This will be a combination of demonstrations and hands-on practice.

About the Instructor:

Brandi Jacques is an award-winning artist and educator with over 35 years of teaching experience. She holds a PhD in Music Education from the University of Toronto and has spent her career inspiring students through both the performing and visual arts. A member of the Associated Artists of Winston-Salem, Brandi has exhibited at venues including the Milton Rhodes Gallery, the Benton Convention Center, the Robert Elberson Fine Arts Center, and the Masonic Center. Her work is currently on display in Footnote Café and Bernardin's Fine Dining. 

Equally at home in abstraction and realism, Brandi often blends the two to capture fleeting moments in nature, the play of light and shadow, and the mysterious textures of time—ancient parchments, asemic writing, and surreal landscapes. Her teaching reflects the same spirit of exploration and freedom, encouraging students to discover their own creative voices through the energy and expressiveness of mark-making.
