In this vibrant, hands-on workshop, artists will explore the dynamic world of alcohol inks across multiple surfaces — paper, canvas, and tile. Students will learn essential techniques to control, layer, and manipulate alcohol inks, adapting their approach to suit the unique qualities of each material.

From creating fluid abstracts on paper, to adding depth on canvas, to designing luminous patterns on tile, participants will discover versatile skills to fuel their creative journey. Whether you’re new to alcohol inks or ready to expand your practice, this workshop offers practical tips, surface-specific techniques, and inspiring possibilities for artists of all levels.

Students should bring: $7 payable to the instructor for alcohol inks and additional supplies. Students are encouraged to bring a heat gun, a hair dryer, and an extension cord.

Issis Kelly is a visual artist based in Winston-Salem, NC, specializing in alcohol inks and acrylics. Her work blends fluid movement with vibrant color to invite moments of pause and reflection.
