CALL FOR ENTRIES

Associated Artists of Winston-Salem, FLOW MINI and the Winston-Salem Open are accepting proposals from local artists to create one of a kind works of art on a promotional vehicle that will be featured at the Winston-Salem Open and other events leading up to the largest and most prestigious sporting event in Winston-Salem. During the painting process a promotional video and various images will be created for all parties that will feature all artists and their creations on a national level. 

3 – 4 artists will be selected to paint murals on different sections of the vehicle. All materials will be provided to the selected artists. Artists will be selected by a jury of representatives from Flow MINI and the Winston-Salem Open.

THEME FOR THE PROJECT

MINI Things to Love About Winston-Salem will be focused on your artistic interpretation of what Winston-Salem and everything in it means to you as an artist. We are looking for visually striking interpretations of this theme. Think BIG! Submit a proposal for a mural that can be painted on a roughly 5ft by 3ft canvas. Quick ideas for projects are Winston-Salem’s iconic skyline, our wonderful innovation quarter, Old Salem, visually striking abstract interpretations of the theme. Please see images of the vehicle below and draw out your ideas with the car in mind.

TIMELINE FOR THE PROJECT

Entries due by July 20
Painting days for Selected Artists – July 21 – July 25
Promotional Car on revealed at a special event – TBA
Promotional Car on site for viewing and a community favorite vote at the Winston-Salem Open – August 18 – 25

ELIGIBILITY 

All Members of Associated Artists of Winston-Salem may enter this competition. There is no entry fee.

HOW TO ENTER

There will be an online entry form on the website soon but for now please email your entries to Bhauser@associatedartists.org. Include the following in your entry. 
– One to two images of past works
– A sketch or rendering of your idea that you will create on your section of the vehicle
– (Optional) A brief written summary of your idea 
You will receive a receipt of your entry in a timely fashion from AAWS Staff. If you do not please call the office or email us so we can get your entry in on time.
