Associated Artists exhibit, “The Artist’s Eye”, is at the Masonic Center of Winston-Salem, and on view from November 24, 2019 to February 29, 2020. The Reception for artists is on Thursday, December 19, from 5 to 7 PM, and open to the public. Holiday sales special: Any artwork purchased during the reception can be taken that same evening. The Masonic Center is located at 4537 Country Club Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
Flow BMW has graciously invited Associated Artists to show and sell artwork during our 17h Annual Fall for Art at the Flow BMW showroom at 2565 Peters Creek Parkway. This event has been sponsored by Flow BMW as a fundraising art sale benefitting AAWS since 2002. All AAWS members are invited to attend Fall for Art, regardless of whether or not they exhibit artwork.
HOW TO ENTER
Please email us with your note of intent to firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday, November 10. Please include the phrase “FFA2018” in the subject line, to ensure your email is recognized as such. Please include the title(s), medium, and size (with frames) of your entries. You will receive a response in as timely a manner as possible. If you do not, please contact our office at (336) 747-1463 to confirm receipt. If you do not have access to email, you can call in your information or mail us a completed inventory sheet.
For 2-D works, Fall for Art is limited to the first 100 entries, with a limit of four works per artist. This is a popular event, so spaces will fill quickly. A short waiting list will be maintained after slots are filled. 3D entries are unlimited as long as they are free-standing or you provide your own pedestals (a small number of pedestals will be available on a first-come, first-serve policy). Both 2-D and 3-D artists, you can set up your very own booth in one of the office areas.
There is no entry fee for Fall for Art. No 2-D artwork may exceed 50 inches in length or 50 pounds in weight. No “alligator” type hangers. Canvases must be framed, or gallery wrapped with no visible staples or unpainted canvas. Canvases with wet paint will not be accepted. Works on paper should be protected by glass or Plexiglas. Sculpture must be ready to be displayed in the booth setting. Improperly presented work will not be displayed at this event. Collegiate Juried Art Exhibition
Associated Artists and The Arts Council of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County are sponsoring “Relevance 2018,” a Juried Art Exhibition for local college students. Any current student at a college or university in Forsyth County is eligible to submit one piece of art for the show. All submitted 2-D and 3-D works that meet the guidelines will be accepted. Prizes include $150 for first place, $75 for second place, and $50 for third place.
Entries must be hand-delivered to the Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts at 251 N. Spruce Street on Monday, Oct 29, 2-5 pm, or Tuesday, Oct 31, 11 am-5 pm. The entry fee is $5. A current student ID is required. (If the work is being delivered by someone other than the artist, a photocopy of the student ID is acceptable.)
The Opening Reception is Friday, November 2, 5-7 pm. The Reception is free and open to the public. The show will run until Saturday, Dec 1.
The juror of the show will be Mary Anne Redding, the Curator and Assistant Director of the Turchin Center for the Visual Arts at Appalachian State University. Prior to joining the Turchin Center, she was the curator of the Marion Center for Photographic Arts and chair of the photography department at Santa Fe University of Art & Design.
The show is being organized by Arts Administration students at Salem College.

The WINSTON-SALEM ALL-CALL is an inclusive visual arts exhibition open to all practicing artists in Winston-Salem and surrounding areas. This exhibition is sponsored by the Arts Council of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County. Artists may bring two pieces, one piece will be selected by a jury of AAWS exhibitions committee members at drop-off. Please deliver your works to the Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts at 251 N. Spruce St. Winston-Salem, NC 27101. Bring your work with the inventory card, attached labels, and entry fee on the “Drop-off” date(s). There is a finite amount of wall space, we will stop accepting entries when we run out of space.
